Baby Support Grant
Baby Support Grant
The COVID-19 pandemic can make it challenging for some Singaporeans who want to get married and start their families. To encourage Singaporeans to continue with their parenthood plans, the Government will give new parents a one-off Baby Support Grant of $3,000 if their child’s date of birth or Estimated Delivery Date is from 1 October 2020 to 30 September 2022.
The Baby Support Grant will be given to children receiving the existing Baby Bonus Cash Gift (click here for the criteria). It will be deposited into the same bank account that parents use to receive the Baby Bonus Cash Gift. The Baby Support Grant will be deposited within one month of enrolment into the Baby Bonus Scheme.
Children who were born before 1 October 2020, but whose certified estimated delivery date was on or after 1 Oct 2020, can receive the Baby Support Grant if they are eligible for the Baby Bonus Cash Gift. Parents of these children may
e-mail a scanned copy of the doctor's certification of the child's estimated delivery date to email@example.com for review.
The doctor's certification should include the following details:
- Estimated delivery date
- Mother's name and identification number
- Name of clinic
- Doctor's signature
With the new Baby Support Grant, parents will now receive up to $21,000 in cash and cash-like benefits for the birth of their first child. This is in addition to parental leave, subsidised preschool and healthcare. Learn more about the other support measures in the Marriage and Parenthood Package at go.gov.sg/mpbooklet. You can also use the Family Support Calculator in the LifeSG app to find out how much benefits you can receive.
